About

Hi, I’m Jennifer – but most people know me as Purple Jen!

In addition to the nickname Purple Jen, Wynne also called me ‘The Kindness Coach’, and I’ve proudly cherished that title ever since. It really sums me up as I am all about spreading love and kindness, positivity, and supporting people and their mental wellbeing.

If you can’t tell already, I am obsessed with the colour purple. My stage name, when I was a professional singer was ‘Purple Diva’, my company is called ‘Purple Virtual Assistant Services’ pvas.co.uk, the theme for my wedding was purple hearts, my engagement ring is an amethyst purple heart (my birthstone), I write in purple ink, and most of the things I own are purple, sparkly, or sparkly purple! My favourite shade of purple is Cadbury purple.

Alongside my full-time job running PVAs, I’m also proud to be Head of Member Welfare for an organisation called ExcludedUK, where I help support and represent people who were financially excluded from parity of government support schemes during the pandemic. It’s work that means a lot to me, as I was one of the excluded, plus I’m passionate about giving a voice to those who’ve felt unheard as well as supporting those still going through mental struggles in the aftermath. I was interviewed by Baroness Hallet’s Covid Inquiry team to contribute to an Impact Film, which was shown on Monday 24th November 2025, before the evidence for Module 9: Economic Response, was heard. My work with ExcludedUK also extends to regular meetings with Lords and MPs in my role as Secretariat Secretary for the ‘Gaps in Covid-19 Financial Support’ APPG (All Party Political Group), as well as all the Metro Mayors and media.

As mentioned before, I am a mental health advocate, having achieve a first-class honours degree in Psychology and Mental Health, and this feeds in with my work as Head of Member Welfare for ExcludedUK, where I look after the mental health of over 25,000 members. It is also why I offered to host the Positive Mental Health Chat for the Wynners and Shhwynners, to offer support, encouragement, a listening ear, and plenty of good vibes to all.

In my ‘spare’ time, my hobbies include music (especially singing), arts and crafts, baking and decorating celebration cakes, organising family holidays and shenanigans. I knit Trauma Teddies for our local police station. These are given to children who attend the police station, to provide comfort at what can be a scary time. I sponsor a delightful little girl in Burkina Faso and we write to each other regularly, updating each other on what is going on in our lives.

I have led a very exciting and eventful life, some great stories, some truly tragic…only a small snippet of my life so far is in the above essay! A few more examples: I am a leap-year baby, I have died three times, a close friend died in the 7/7 London Bombings, plus many more...
