Is it a lake, all wide and grey,

Inviting boats to drift away?

A dreamy scene, so calm, so cool,

My eyes are tricked …I feel the fool.

No ripple stirs, no sunlight gleams,

It’s flatter than my weekend dreams.

No mirrored sky, no waves at all…

Good grief, I’ve been duped …it’s just a wall!

So here I stand, both dazed and daft,

While that sly old wall just laughs and laughed.

A lake? A view? No trick too small

Fool the Wynners…no not at all.
