Sun slowly takes of his hat

shortened is the day

Autumnal gold

earthy mold

Winter on its way

The leaves they change their colour

amber they start to fall

crisper, colder

Jack Frost bolder

as he comes to call

Nights start drawing in

no more late evening light

early ending

darkness descending bringing forward night

Ghostly ghouls and witches soon will haunt the streets

on every road

to each abode

in their search for welcome treats

Then a myriad of colours

festoon the smoky sky

ree

bonfires ignite

a November sight

burning effigy of Guy

Winter then upon us

the season of course when lights are aglow

dreams of snow

goodwill to all men.
