Hello and a very warm welcome! Croeso .

This group space is dedicated to everyone who finds joy, peace and inspiration in the great outdoors. Whether you love walking through the countryside in woodlands and other habitats- spotting wildlife, tending your garden or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the countryside, you’ll find kindred spirits here.

To celebrate nature in all its forms, sharing experiences, photos, knowledge and ideas that deepen our appreciation of the world around us. This is a friendly, respectful space for discussion, discovery and connection with others who value the calm and wonder of the natural world.

Let’s explore, learn and protect the countryside together, one step at a time

Let’s remember our time during Covid when we all went out walking locally - some with their dog. When you were encouraged to cross the road in case you spread or contracted Covid from others. It reminded me of my early days walking with my two children Rhodri and Emma when I always pointed out to them the Latin name, English and Welsh names of Birds, Flowers,Trees, Mosses and Lichens. They still remember a lot of those names now.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Biology teacher in Denbigh Grammar School Mr Hywel Davies. - Davies Biol for encouraging my interest in Biology

Dr Derek Boatman Botany Dept University of Kingston upon Hull - a leading Specialist on Peat Bogs UKWide and my University mentor in Studying The Growth and Development of the Sphagnum Bog Mosses for my PhD. Hence Dr. In front of my name. A real life Bogologist who has tramped many peat bogs all over the world.

Also another legend who has influenced me is Sir David Attenborough CBE - thanks Sir for enlightening us all as well as advising us all regarding wildlife conservation in the world - a lot of which is being displaced

We had a very interesting time with Wynne Evans on his Wynners Show recently when he challenged us all to speak for a minute on a subject
